Shanklin Old Village is a mass of pretty thatched cottages interspersed with gift shops, cafes and restaurants.  Once know for its' smuggling trade, the Old Village now plays host to Shanklin Chine, with its pretty waterfall and is very popular with tourists and Islanders alike, who visit for the charm and character of the village.
